Client needs vary and volunteers get to help with the things that they feel comfortable with.
Some examples of things that volunteers may help with are:
- Being a good listener, providing companionship and individual attention
- Providing respite care for family caregivers
- Assisting with meal planning and preparation, helping with light grocery shopping
- Assisting with tasks of daily living
- Monitoring medication or assisting with exercises
- Assist with light household chores, getting the mail, making the bed, doing dishes, taking out the trash, helping with laundry
- Accompanying to the doctor for treatment, to nutrition site, to recreational or social events
- Helping write letters, reading, filling out forms
- Giving encouragement, taking walks, exercising, participating in activities of interest to the client such as playing cards, games, and hobbies
Volunteer Benefits:

Volunteer commitment is 5 to 40 hours per week.
