By matching youth facing adversity with a caring adult mentor in a one-to-one mentoring relationship within the community, our Bigs help inspire greater self confidence, better academic performance, and dreams for the future that will change their life for the better, forever.
Ways to Mentor:
Community-Based
- Outings in the community or Big's home
- Flexible Scheduling
- Minimum of 12 month commitment
School-Based
- Big meets with Little at school
- 30-40 minutes 2 to 4 times per month
- Spend time eating, reading, playing games, or talking
- Minimum of one school year (2 semesters)
Requirements for Bigs: Must be at least 18 years old; Minimum 1-year commitment to match; Access to vehicle and proof of vehicle insurance; Communicate with Match Support Specialist (case manager) on a regular basis and complete trainings as needed; Follow ground rules.
