Who We Are
The Arc of Central Plains is the local chapter of The Arc of the U.S. We were founded over 50 years ago by a group of parents of children with disabilities who wanted to see their kids included in the community rather than institutionalized. Those parents created the thrift store as a sustainable fundraising mechanism. That group of parents is also responsible for founding Hays Area Children's Center and DSNWK.
What We Do
The Arc of Central Plains serves people with intellectual/developmental disabilities. We promote inclusion and provide programs and social opportunities, including Special Olympics, for those we serve. To fund our mission we operate a thrift store that is staffed primarily by volunteers.
