First Call for Help of Ellis County

First Call for Help has been helping in the community for over 25 years. We are a grassroots organization supported by United Way of Ellis County, Ellis County Ministerial Alliance, City of Hays and many individual contributors.

First Call for Help provides emergency assistance to prevent homelessness and provide basic needs and transient assistance. The organization has a food and hygiene pantry, and diaper stash. They also coordinate Backpacks for Kids school supply drive and distribution in August each year. We also deliver over 7000 meals each year to elderly and disabled through the Meals on Wheels program.
